Like any modern love story, Elizabeth was introduced to Chip through Instagram in April this year.
Whilst on lockdown I wanted to make sure that I could accumulate money separately to my main bank account for savings.
And with that, she found Chip. Already half way to her goal, Liz wrote to us to share her Chip journey and we just couldn't keep it to ourselves.
Take five to read her beautiful story, and how we are making it happen.
Elizabeth: I would have a flexible savings account, which I always used to withdraw because it was on the same platform. I didn’t like the fact that it was all in the same place.
Elizabeth: I have managed to nearly save £500 and need about another £500 to be able to go and visit my grandad in Ecuador.
I’m hoping to go in December this year, hopefully when COVID-19 has settled down! It would be our first Christmas together.
My grandad lives on his own, so whilst on lockdown we have had many WhatsApp calls to keep in touch.
I've almost reach my saving target in just two and a half months thanks to Chip!
Elizabeth: It's been great. I’ve found it to be quite educational in terms of how it is simple to save without the fuss.
It is great to know I can save money without realising and it not affecting me with other bills or spending.
Elizabeth: My new goal will be to have £1000 for December and use that money for a flight, as well as Christmas gifts for my family in Ecuador.
But it's mainly to get time and enjoyment with my granddad.
Elizabeth: The fact that it is so simple and easy, as well as regular emails about how much money will leave my bank account, and the fact that I can cancel it if I need to.
Elizabeth: Yes, to the creator of the app, thank you for thinking about the people who might not find it easy to save within their own bank platforms while keeping it simple.
It is a great way to see that your savings are in a secure place growing right in front of your eyes.
Whilst on lockdown it has been easier to save, and this app has made it effortless to achieve a goal which will bring me priceless moments!
