The Ultimate 2020 Festival Gig Guide

As winter rolls in and festival season goes into hibernation, we urge you not to put the glitter and fanny packs into storage just yet, for now is the time to look onto the 2020 calendar and say yes to the fest.

According to our incredibly insightful and not-at-all boring saver data, festivals are one of the most popular goals created in the Chip app. Similarly, Mintel found UK festival numbers are the highest they’ve been in four years.

They’re a place to discover a new artist or see your favourite one live; explore beyond the parameters of socially acceptable attire; convulse from the stench of portaloos and lose either your friends or your sunglasses.

The internet is riddled with scholarly articles declaring millennials would rather save for a holiday than a house, favouring experiential, bespoke experiences, like music festivals and travel, than materialistic possessions.

A recent study has found nearly 7 out of 10 millennials experience FOMO (fear of missing out), providing a plausible reason for the ever increasing appetite for experiences. Social pressure, the elusive Instagram lifestyle and exclusive/limited time opportunities are also said to have major influence over this trend in behaviour.

All Brexit shenanigans aside, we’ve rounded up the top music festivals across both the United Kingdom and Europe for 2020 to ensure there is not a wrinkle of FOMO in sight. So, put your pennies in a row and get ready to head-bang, boot scoot and pop lock and drop it as the 2020 festival scene brings the biggest names in pop, rock, rap, techno and everything in between.
