The who, what, when, why and how to reconnecting your bank to Chip.
You need to connect your bank so Chip can autosave the Goldilocks amount for you every few days. Don't stress, we've made it ridiculously easy to reconnect.
Just head to the profile tab in your app and follow the prompts. You'll be done in just a couple of taps.
Why do I need to reconnect?
To keep your account safe and secure, the connection between Chip and your bank expires every 90 days.
Don't worry, we'll send you a reminder 20 days before your connection is due to expire and you'll notice a prompt in your app to reconnect.
By reconnecting, you will be able to continue using Chip's AI to save tailored amounts, as well as having access to the newest (most exciting) addition to the app, Interest Accounts, as soon asthey're released to the public.
Gotcha. So, how do I reconnect?
Reconnecting is easy! And quick! And painless!
1. Go to yourProfile tab in your app.
2. Tap 'Reconnect' and we'll redirect you to your bank to grant permission.
3. Your bank sends you right back to Chip.
What happens if I forget to reconnect after the 90 days?
Not to worry, the universe won't combust. Well, we're 99.99% sure it won't.
While Chip will still continue to automatically move money aside for you, these will only generate as basic savesmeaning the amount won't be calculated based on your transaction history as we no longer have access to your bank.
So to ensure Chip saves an amount that's perfectly tailored to you, reconnect, reconnect, reconnect!
