About this fund

Top companies in Europe

This fund invests in companies from across continental Europe, but excluding companies based in the United Kingdom and emerging European economies (Poland, Hungary, Turkey). Countries in this region represent established economies with mature financial systems, stable regulatory environments and multinational companies.

Investing in this ETF provides a passive investment into developed European markets.

Sector exposure

The fund follows a market-cap weighted index — meaning companies with higher stock market value carry more weight.

At present, the largest sector allocations include industrials, financials, consumer goods, healthcare and tech. These sector weightings naturally change over time based on market movements.

Index Tracker

This is a passive index fund, meaning it does not aim to outperform the market or pick individual winners. Instead, it tracks the FTSE World Europe ex UK Index, which reflects the performance of companies in developed European markets.

Because of its index-tracking structure, it’s low cost and automatically updated to reflect changes in the underlying index.

Europe ex-UK Fund FAQ's

Why does this fund exclude the UK and emerging economies?

This fund is designed to track developed continental European markets specifically, so it excludes the UK (which is often covered in separate UK-focused funds) and emerging markets (which have different risk profiles and growth characteristics). This focus allows investors to target the performance of advanced economies within continental Europe.

Does this fund pay dividends?

No — this is an accumulating fund, which means any dividends from the underlying companies are automatically reinvested back into the fund. Instead of receiving cash payouts, your investment grows through compounding over time.

Is this fund suitable for new investors?

It can be suitable for beginners looking for long-term, diversified exposure to developed European companies. As a passive index fund, it’s designed to track the market rather than actively pick stocks, which can make it a lower-cost, straightforward option for those new to investing.

Is this a good European fund?

This fund offers broad exposure to a wide range of well-established companies across major developed European economies. It aims to track the performance of the market rather than outperform it. Whether it's a good fit depends on your investment goals, but it’s an option for those seeking diversified, passive exposure to continental Europe.
