About this fund

One diverse investment into British markets

This fund gives investors access to a diverse mix of British companies across a variety of sectors. Covering 85% of the UK’s publicly traded market, the underlying index includes both large- and mid-cap companies.

Companies in violation of the index’s ethical principles framework are excluded. That is, companies involved in pure coal mining, production of controversial weapons, or companies whose activities violate the UN Global Compact principles on human rights, labour, environment and corruption.

Sector exposure

This fund’s underlying index ranks companies based on their total investible market value. It includes both large- and mid-cap companies across a range of sectors. Current sector exposure is led by financials, consumer goods, industrials, healthcare and energy. These sector weightings can shift over time as the index moves.

Index Tracker

This is a passive index fund, meaning it does not aim to outperform the market or pick individual winners. Instead, it tracks the Solactive Core United Kingdom Large & Mid Cap Index , which reflects the performance of large- and mid-cap companies in the United Kingdom.

Because of its index-tracking structure, it’s low cost and automatically updated to reflect changes in the underlying index.

UK Large & Mid Cap FAQ's

How does this fund differ from the FTSE 100?

The FTSE 100 tracks the 100 largest companies listed on the London Stock Exchange by total market value. It focuses on large-cap UK-listed companies and is heavily weighted towards multinational companies. This fund’s index includes both large- and mid-cap companies, covering around 85% of the UK’s investible market, and a broader spread of sectors.

Does this fund pay dividends?

No – this fund accumulates returns, meaning they are automatically reinvested back into the fund. This style of investing could be better for investors seeking growth — rather than income — from their investment.

Why would I buy a fund over individual stocks?

This fund gives you access to four hundred companies in one investment. By investing in an index fund rather than the shares within the index, you’ll cut down on risk, effort, and most likely costs too.

Is this fund suitable for new investors?

Diversified index funds such as the UK Large & Mid-Cap can be a good option for beginners, as they’re easy-access, low-cost, and don’t require investors to pick their own stocks.
