A new range of savings accounts are on the way
We’re building Chip to be your go-to destination for all things saving and investing, with choice over how you build your wealth.
In order for us to deliver on our vision, we’re making some changes to improve Chip. These will allow us to offer more savings accounts to give our community the tools they need.
In order to bring you this range of new accounts, we have to say goodbye to some older savings accounts that we currently offer through our existing partner, Flagstone, including the OakNorth 90-Day Notice Account.
The changes we’re making
To make way for the new, we’ll no longer be offering the OakNorth 90 Day Notice Account.
If you’re a customer with this account (including those with a £0 balance), we’ll send you a general notice via email to confirm that this account will no longer accept deposits, and we’ll be closing it from 30 November 2023.
There are no fees or charges associated with this process and we’ll handle everything for you.
You don’t need to do anything
If you hold a balance with OakNorth, your funds will be automatically transferred into the Chip Instant Access Account* 90 days from 30 November 2023.
Your funds will be available to you after 1 March 2024, once the transfer is complete. Please note the following information.
- As this is a 90-day notice account, from 30 November 2023 we will serve OakNorth notice on your behalf
- Your money will be available from 1 March 2024
* If you don’t have the Chip Instant Access Account open, we’ll transfer your money to the Prize Savings Account, or the personal bank account you have connected to Chip.

If you hold a balance and would like to start the withdrawal process sooner, please request the Customer Service team close your Oaknorth account by getting in touch with the team via the app (on the ‘Profile’ tab)

Why we are making these changes
We always want to keep our savings accounts highly competitive, so withdrawing our older accounts will allow us to bring in a new range with higher interest rates, better functionality and more choice over how you build your wealth.
