£50 get started reward FAQs
Investing promotion - 19 March 2026 to 26 March 2026
Get £50 to set up your investment account with Chip.
Who is eligible for this offer?
You are eligible if, as of 19 March 2026, you do not have an open Chip Investment Account (either a Stocks & Shares ISA or General Investment Account). You must also have an open Chip Instant Access account or Prize Savings Account so we have a place to credit your bonus, and have received communications from Chip inviting you to claim this promotion.
How do I claim the £50 bonus?
To secure the bonus, you must have received communications from Chip inviting you to claim this promotion. Then simply open your Chip investment account and add at least £1,000. You must complete both of these actions between 00:00 on 19 March 2026 and 23:59 on 26 March 2026.
Can I split the £1,000 deposit across different accounts?
Yes, your £1,000 deposit can be made into any fund or held as uninvested cash, and you can choose to spread this amount across both your General Investment Account (GIA) and Stocks & Shares ISA. As long as the total amount deposited is at least £1,000, you will qualify.
What if my deposit doesn't land before the deadline?
Investment deposits usually take 1-2 working days to process, though they can take longer. However, provided you initiate your deposit and enter the promo code before the 23:59 deadline on 26 March 2026, you will still qualify for the offer when your funds arrive.
When and where will the bonus be paid?
We will credit the £50 bonus on 31 March 2026 if you meet the criteria. If you have a Prize Savings Account open, the bonus will be paid there by default. If you only have a Chip Instant Access account, the bonus will be paid into that account instead. If you do not have either account type open and active on the bonus payment date, you will be ineligible to receive the bonus.
Do I have to buy a fund immediately, or can I just hold cash?
To qualify, you simply need to deposit the £1,000 into your investment account. You can choose to allocate this to a specific fund immediately, or leave it as ‘uninvested cash’ within your Stocks & Shares ISA or General Investment Account. Both options satisfy the criteria for the bonus.
I opened an investment account a long time ago but never used it. Do I qualify?
No. Even if you opened your investment account months or years ago, you are unfortunately not eligible.
I have both a General Investment Account and an ISA. Can I get the bonus twice?
No. This offer is capped at one £50 bonus per person. You can split your qualifying £1,000 deposit across both accounts if you wish, but you will only receive a single reward payment.
